A fresh IP or domain starts with no reputation. How to ramp up volume without landing in spam.
What warm-up is
A new IP or domain has no reputation: if you start with large volumes, providers treat you with suspicion. Warm-up ramps volume up gradually and credibly.
A rough plan
Start with a few hundred emails a day to your most engaged contacts, then double every 2–3 days while watching opens and bounces. In 4–6 weeks you reach full volume.
Golden rules
- Send first to recipients who open most: positive signals build reputation.
- Keep bounces and complaints low: slow down if they rise.
- Keep frequency and volume steady, no sudden spikes.
